NIMCON 8 News
Planning in Progress
We have locked in the date of June 22, 2019 for NIMCON 8. As we continue planning and preparations, this page will be updated with news about the show.
Update May 23:
Trophy sponsorships are still available for a few Best Of awards and all regular categories. There is no limit to the number of regular category sponsorships, so if you have not already sponsored a category or special award, please consider it as it helps to offset the cost of trophies and medals. The trophy sponsorship form has been updated to reflect the latest sponsorships.
Vendor tables are selling fast, but we still have a few left. If you wish to vend at the show, please complete and submit your vendor registration form to make reserve tables. The vendor list has been updated to reflect the vendors who have already registered.
Update from May 10:
The NIMCON 8 schedule has been posted to the site. We still have vendor table space available, but may run out as we get closer, so please be sure to reserve your tables soon.
There are still plenty of trophies left to sponsor. Special award and regular categories. There is no limit on the number of regular category sponsorships. Please consider sponsoring a special award or category.
Unfortunately, the presenters we reached out to are not available this year, so there will be no presentations at NIMCON8. Guess that just leaves more time to shop and look at all the incredible exhibits.
Update from April 26:
Vendor table sales are picking up. The list of confirmed vendors has been posted. If you are interested in being a vendor at the show, don’t delay in submitting you registration. Tables sell fast as we get closer to the day of the show.
Update from March 7:
LRSM is proud to announce that we will sponsor a special award at NIMCON8 in memorial to Larry Johnson, a long time member and friend to many. Larry was very creative and had the most incredible imagination. In his honor, we will present the Larry Johnson memorial award for the most imaginative exhibit. All exhibits in all categories will be considered for this award. We will have a team of folks who were closest to Larry pick the exhibit that they think would have most inspired his imagination.
Update from February 15:
Forms for trophy sponsorship, registration, and vendor reservations have been finalized and are now posted.
Note on categories: We have broken the figure category into Historical and Non-Historical. This split recognizes exhibitors desire to separate horror and fantasy subjects from the figures based on real historical subjects and allows for best of awards for each type of subject.
The judging criteria has been simplified for NIMCON 8 and has been posted for those who are interesting in review the criteria we use for judging exhibits.
We are reaching out to find presenters for seminars again this year. We will update the news as we continue to search for potential presenters and interesting subjects.
